Hello all, are there any modules that integrate instant messagings programs like yahoo messager or icq to litestep?

it'll be great if there's one

i dunno, but use trillian ;) it integrates all those different messengers into a single program :)

There was only one IM module made for LS and it was for ICQ. It never was widely used and basically just died. your best bet is an IM client the acts like Trillian and combines all IM clients together.

Miranda im is great, supports msn, yahoo, aim, icq, jabber, gadu-gadu, and others, and is open source.

Miranda is very nice. Both Miranda and Litestep uses modules. So it shouldn't be a problem to make a Miranda module that talks to a Litestep module in order to use Miranda from Litestep. Of course it involves some hard programming, maybe I'll try it sometime.

miranda is what i use. LS-miranda modules would be rad.

It's not exactly an integration, but try ckShowIt at http://chaku.shellfront.org/index.php?cat=litestep . You can then have a bang of
!ckShowit Buddies : Trillian
and it shows the window.
Maybe this will do what you need!

But what is that LS/Miranda module supposed to do? I can't really think of a lot of options except for hide/show or so.

Well, use your imagination. I tried to make an example but I suck at graphics so it got ugly. You get the basic idea though.

Miranda used in the simplicity theme.

Another idea would be to incorporate it in a popup.

Another example. This is fvwm under Linux. The window for Licq is put into an fvwm-box so it isn't really what we want. But it is an example of how a Miranda-LS module could be used.

I dun know, maybe something like LSMail, but made for instant messaging? it'll be way cool to see some module that can fully integrate with LS instead of icq's or MSN's own UI, like how winamp is integrated thru geekamp...

gieron: that'd be nice indeed :)
Nestor: "like how winamp is integrated thru geekamp"... what i meant is, "what's it supposed to do"... pause the message currently being sent? like !amp_pause?

what i meant is a full integrate... like a popup contact list and built in messagebox... something like this

That's a good idea, I like it. Lets hear some more ideas. Nothing is too crazy :)
