So I went and installed xDesktop. Very easy, very nice, but unfortunately, the icons that were already on the desktop are still there, and still unmovable. Apparently, xDesktop made a new set of icons (that i can move and do whatever with) but did not remove the old ones (which are locked, just as if I was not using xDesktop in the first place). Is there a way to force LiteStep to remove the old ones or something to that effect?

EDIT: Problem Solved. Apparently xDesktop grabs its icon information from \Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop\ while Litestep grabs it from C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop\ so it overlaps. Simply move the shortcuts from your username\Desktop to All Users\Desktop and all is right.

More than likely you have two desktop icon modules loaded. Would have been a whole lot easier if you shut off icondesk.

Hahah, yeah unload the module or... Delete all the shortcuts! :woot: wtf!? :D lol.

Do what Devilboi says, and understand the ideas of "Modularity"

No, just one module. Apparently the default spot for xDesktop icons is \username\desktop while most of my icons were located in \All Users\desktop, so it didn't grab the right ones. Either way its all fixed now.

Oh... That sounds odd though. There must be some setting that specifies which folder to display...

Hrm... I have the same issue, except that I have no All Users and username. All I have is the normal desktop folder, no users to be had on it except myself.
I don't have any other modules, either, as xdesktop is the first one I've put on (first I've downloaded, as well).

I'll keep screwing around with it, though, and hopefully figure out what's up with it.

Well theres two ways to fix it. You can either move your icons to \All Users\desktop or in you xdesktop.rc file (or whatever you called it) change the pointers to the icons to wherever yours are specifically located. I suppose I could have done that first as well, but I like all my stuff to be in one place so its easier to keep track of.
