I've noticed when I installed LiteStep on my laptop that the volume up/down and the mute key on the front don't work anymore. Perhaps there is a module or something that will allow me to use them again?
do you know what the system refers to them as? you could try to make them into hotkey buttons that will lower/raise and mute, kinda like
*hotkey ctrl volup !volumebanghere
