I know this may sound stupid but how do you change the wallpaper in litestep. I've been trying to put one and the windows display menu says its already there but it aint so please clarify me on this issue.
It surely is, but there is surely something over, like a colour layer, it happens in XP (well it happend to me), when you hide the trashcan, for instance, I settled the problem by doubling my manips in TweakXP.
Maybe this doesnt help you at all, at least you feel less lonely don't you?
:)
Don't if I am clear...
... And it's not a problem with Litestep, it's a problem with Windows...
I made a shortcut to Display Options (in control panel)...
im using win2k and well i put a back ground picture and i install litestep and well that same background doesnt show up.
To anyone, is there a module in LS that could prevent a wp to show up? (it seems weird)...
If you are attempting to use a JPG image as your background it will not showup in LiteStep. Convert the image to a BMP and it will display just fine.
I use a jpg in Litestep, and it shows perfectly, is it because I am running a StyleXP-like dll behind it? In that case, that dll is an improvement vs Windows...
I don't understand anything about all that !!!
I've nerver had problem with wallpapers (I'm under Win2K)...
and I'm using LSWChanger.dll (LS module) as wallpaper manager.
Just try it...
Windows itself can't understand any wallpaper format but .bmp files. When IE is the shell (via explorer.exe), it's the shell, not Windows, that allows you to use other formats as wallpapers.
I don't use XP, so I don't know how StyleXP handles wallpapers (or even if it does). But when LiteStep is the shell, the only way to display non-.bmp wallpapers is through a LiteStep module or third-party program.
Even though 2K's and XP's Display Properties sheet allows you to pick non-.bmp wallpapers, they will not be displayed while in LiteStep except as described above.
So I guess it's this famous dll...
knarf, it is possible to have no wallpaper. use lswchanger.dll (gee, it's the 3rd time i'm recommending this module :) with mzscript.dll.
load lswchanger and put this line into your script.rc:
*Script Start !wallpaper .none
this tells lswchanger on startup to show no wallpaper ;)
haha thanks you guys youre a life saver
great to see people are willing to help others on here other than just bitch at them because theyre ignorant about something.
thanks a million
I always use ACDSee, makes it easier for me to preview my wallpapers. And when I find a good one I'll set it as a wallpaper using ACDSee.
just my 2 cents.
