Im having problems with the desktop... Ex: Can't move any icons or anything...
Im running windows xp home edition. Help please?
LS Doesn't let you drag your desktop icons
well.. how can i arrange my desktop icons?
Show...Hide...Arranged :)
how would i got about doing that? rightclick or what? spoon feed me please :D
bangs man, it's all about bangs...! read the manual dude! :D
what would the bang command be?
what would the icon module be?
If it's an OTS theme you will find the manual for the icon module under C:\LiteStep\themes\[theme name]\modules\docs\. There are a variety of different modules (each with their own Bangs) that could be responsible for displaying the icons in your theme. To see what modules your theme uses open the file C:\LiteStep\themes\[theme name]\step.rc in a text editor.
@ drworm im using the deafult theme :/
"...im using the deafult theme :/"
So what's your issue? You've been told multiple times above to read the docs and I've told you were you can find them. We really shouldn't have to spell this out for you but I guess this thread will never end unless we do.
1. Open your file manager
2. Go to the folder "C:\LiteStep\themes\simplicity\modules\docs"
3. Open DeskFolders2.0b4.htm
4. READ IT!
in Biff's defence, I don't see how he could know that as a new user... reading the readme for deskfolders *is* the obvious thing to do. But it's only obvious once you already know:
1. the desktop icon module is deskfolders
2. the documentation can be found in the docs subfolder of the theme's modules directory
3. you know a bit about ls/the way files are organized.
I think it's actually quite *hard* for newbies to figure out litestep now. Installing it is easy, the thing is, installing it is now so easy that you can have it up and running before you know what it's really all about. If you have to struggle to set it up manually like we used to, well by the time you got LiteStep running you had a fair idea how it all worked. ;)
Keep at it Biff, it's a lot to absorb quickly but over time you may get used to the 'litestep way' :P
You're right, Omar.
My apologies for my rudeness in my last post, Biff.
