Well, I allready expressed my views at ls-u and after reading that entire thread it seems like Immortal and Andymon have a good idea.
They just simply want to update old themes that are dead to OTS2.
I think thats quite a good idea, but I don't think I will participate in the updating. It seems too... retro-active?
It would be a good learning experience for any themer though, so I may partake.
And if I did update an older theme I would no-doubt upload it here, so the whole "central repository" thing I think is a different issue.
It would be cool if there was 1 site to upload your theme and all the sites that wanted it could grab it, but I think that is the reason why there isn't one.
Distribution control is needed with anything anyone produces. We like to know where our stuff is.
