win9x? if so and you didn't actually reformat/reinstall windows boot into DOS mode (hit F8 after POSTing) and at the prompt
> edit c:\windows\system.ini
and under section [boot] set shell=Explorer.exe (or correct the path).

I don't know if you're sarcastic above but you have forward slashes instead of backslashes and a glaring typo :)

I think all the LS converts I tried to make actually reinstalled windows even after I told them of this emergency fix before having them install LS (this is long ago BTW in the days of manual installation).
