Right, I was just thinking of hiding the old versions from the theme list when you browse it. One entry per theme, not per theme version. You'd click on the theme's name (ie. open the theme's page) and have the option to obtain "past versions".

Then again, I seldom use the theme list. I'm probably not the best to tell if that'd be useful or not.
