Hurm... If your theme makes excessive use of lstransparent you could see such problems with games, but other than that I can't really think of anything. I (and lots of others I assume) have a very similar setup (except that my CPU isn't quite as fast) and I've never had any such problems. Try loading LS with no modules at all, if that fixes it we need to track down the buggy module.
