I basically use quicklaunch, with subdirectories, for Mozilla, Firebird (haven't gotten to trying Thunderbird yet), Paint Shop Pro, and Console2. Lsxcommand gets most else done (winword, notetab, explorer, pretty much everything but trillian and openoffice), and I use the included ftp.
With lsxcommand aliases, I really don't use quicklaunch much.
