I would say having al the stuff like your lsxcommand, systray, time, tasks, LITTLE winamp remote with display(together with volume and position sliders), maybe some shortcut icons and some other stuff.

And for this the dynamics of being able to disable and enable them all with a click or popup(or changing from like tasks to systray or whatever)!
