Not use Winamp, but another program? Thread last updated on 2008-04-14 08:02:08

Hi there, I'm still new to Litestep but I am loving every minute of it.

Now I know that a lot of themes come with control for Winamp, however I don't have that program nor do I ever plan on using it. So is it possible to change the theme so that the controls (play/pause, etc.) are applied for a different program? I would really like the controls to be changed for iTunes, or even Windows Media Player. My current theme is Go! version 3.0.1

Thanks in advance!

I think I saw a module for itunes, dunno how well it works though. You can also control foobar with command line entries, and I think one module semi-supports foobar.

I have no idea about WMP.

I'd imagine most people who use Litestep wouldn't use WMP.

There is an iTunes control module around. And if you want to use WMP there is an entry in the Code section to get it to work.

most media players based on inamp work well, u might like them more.
mediamonkey is probably the pick of the bunch

I don't use such apps. But you can always use foobar2000 with almost any theme made with winamp in mind. You must add a component called winamp api emulator.

That said, I've found that foobar doesn't work perfectly with the winamp api emulator, and that a more robust way of doing things is through the command line interface it has.
