systray PEAP problems Thread last updated on 2007-03-27 23:56:58

I am running litestep on winXP. I am using the contrast theme and the systray 2.2.0 module. When I try to connect to a wireless network using PEAP authentication I never see the pop-up ballon to enter my network credentials. This works when i am using explorer.exe as my shell but not when using litestep. Does anyone know another way to get the credintals box to pop-up for PEAP authentication or a way to perhaps modify systray to show the balloon? any help is graetly appreciated

You need to update your LS build, and most likely your tray module as well. I'm not sure how much of the problem is due to the module or the core's tray service, but this definitely works with a more "modern" installation (e.g., xtray or vtray, LS 0.24.7 final).

Really? I haven't seen a balloon traytip since I installed Litestep.

I get mine for showing wireless networking connectivity information. Never have used PEAP authentication though. My traytip ballons are hit and miss though.

What are those things that pop up when you 'safely remove' a device (e.g., USB disk)? Are those not balloon tooltips?

xTray has InfoTips (BallonTooltips), when you enable it with
xTrayShowInfoTip
They have not 100% of the Explorer features, but they come close.

After all this time, I missed that setting...

Well, reload and shoot again. You'll get it eventually.
