Simplicity..? Thread last updated on 2003-01-31 13:34:11

Simplicitys a great theme but for some reason on my system the part of the wharf which includes the system monitor/winamp/VWM etc seems to muddle itself up occasionally. The different modes overlap each other and then dont even scroll at all.

Is this a known bug? Is there a way to alter this?

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

When I ran simplicity I found that certain modes would not load or partially load when switching after a while of uptime... usually the VWM and then the geekamp... the lsxcmd was then the only one that worked... I think this might happen from a logic error in the code... an instance (or even maybe several) that you eventually run across in run time. I reccommend a close look at the step and the other .rcs. I think, from a fresh quick look at it that there are quite a few modules that don't need to be loaded or used... they were put there just in case, but they might conflict with the modules that are in the mode (I've run into problems with label18 and rainmeter running together, just an idea though)... otherwise, just change your theme... simplicity is great, but LiteStep is so customizable that you should at least use someone else's theme thats set more to your liking... hope this helps your stepping... enjoy!

wow - those are some pretty freaky bugs! i'm afraid i don't know what might be causing them though, i've never experienced anything like that, not on 98 where simplicity was originally developed, and not on xp where it now resides...

can you tell me any specific way to reproduce this misbehaviour so i can test it out?

but as Bergil suggested, definitely use some other theme. ;)
