i am looking for a module that will work to control VLC from the media bar...
if not vlc, maybe getting it to work with foobar...(prefer using vlc(videoLan)

if anyone has any ideas or help... it is appreciated

You're not going to have any luck with the VLC I don't think (not using litestep anyways, unless I'm missing something)... foobar on the other hand is definitely doable. You can use... aw crap I haven't used an *amp controller in a theme for so long I don't know which module is best. Either dynamp or geekamp, check those out. They will provide bangs that you can assign to hotkeys, and if you look in your litestep directory you'll find buried in there a file called "vk104.txt" to which you will need to add some entries for your super-keys. The format of the file is pretty straightforward and you'll see what it's all about when you open it up... oh and my fingers are getting sore from typing but this is where mine is:

C:\Apps\LiteStep\profiles\John\personal\jkey\vk104.txt

So, yah... connect the dots.

Also, to find out what code you need for your super-keys there's an app called "AnyKey" (wait, is that what that app's called?). I think it's on ShellFront (wait, is that what that site's called?)

Sorry for being verbose and dumb, hope it helps :)

Oh and if I misinterpreted what a "media bar" is... then... ignore what I just said.

Thanks... i think you interpreted what i meant quite well...

i will look into maybe just switching back to using winamp(does litestep work with the newest version of winamp or do I need to switch back to winamp 2.x????

it has been almost 3 years since i used litestep last... and now i am trying to get back into it... but now litestep protects a lot of it's files by nexting RC files inside other rc files..... so i am having a hard time getting back into it...

i am used to the old style where we had like a total of maybe 10 or so rc files to edit... mostly just step and personal

thanks... Paul

I'm pretty sure those modules support winamp5, although I use foobar2000 myself.

Oh and it turns out I didn't need to be so verbose, someone else already has :)

where is this module? and how do you use it? or where can i find the documentation on it?
sorry that i am so dense when it comes to this stuff... but i really have limited amt of time to mess with all this between classes, flying, and writing my java programs for school...

winamp 5 works fine with standard amp modules, but i would VERY much like to see a working vlc modules.
