Any of you guys seen one floating around at all?

Its just ive put together an unattended XP install with a pre-config of litestep and want to start making some cosmetic changes, namely the bootscreen.

Just makes me feel better when theres no trace of Microsoft branding on a system :)

Already got Litestep to be set as the default system shell before the first boot after install :)

Very handy for me, and hopefully everyone else.

just working on the consmetic changes to the installation now

so if you can set LS to be there why can't you get bootskin to work?

Because i have no creative skills what so ever when it comes to graphics.

Integrating Litestep into an XP install isnt the same as designing graphics. Two seperate hobbies, and graphics is one hobby I have never been able to get a grasp on...

no...I mean why can't you set the bootskin and then create your disk image so your disk image uses it.

im not too keen on letting the RunOnceEx registry keys loose with boot.ini

rather have an ntoskrnl.exe that i can fix the crc headrs on and compress.

that way it can just replace the ntoskrnl.ex_ that comes on a regular disk

(check in the i386 dir to see what i mean, most of the windows folder is in there only compressed using makecab)

scary, alot of people have trouble installing litestep as a shell... heres me turning it into its own OS =D

Using bootskin is about the simplest method of getting a custom bootscreen ever.

Your disk image sounds intriguing, would save me alot of time and hassle making one myself: What tools did you use?
