i have searched everywhere, high and low, everywhere i could think of. i need a litestep theme that looks as close to the XP Luna blue desktop as possible, including wallpaper or link to the wallpaper..the one with the grassy field and rolling hills. if someone could help me find one or if someone could make me one (theme), i could offer a legal music download from http://mot-studios.co.nr (theres more music comeing soon, not for sure the exact date though). but for me to give a legal and free music download, the first person who shows me a theme that i end up useing will be the one who gets it. if they can get it within a week of this post, ill offer two legal and free music downloads from that site. i greatly thank anyone who helps me on this. i would offer more but thats all i can offer.

uhmmm...the theme is hosted on this site multiple times. and that wallpaper is part of the XP install...so either you have it or you can have it mailed to you. Now stop being lazy and do some looking!

i searched for like 10 hours now with no luck and i never had xp and everyone i know has 2000 or older so no luck there. u dont seem to realise how much ive searched. ive found one theme but it isnt good enough quality. its very close but not enough for the purpose i need. if i could id make the thing myself but i am not talented in makeing themes, ive tried for months now with NO luck.

btw, i asked and offered the music as a gift for people who could help me in my search. someone may know where a good one is. i got most of what i need but i need a wallpaper and a good theme.

10 hours to look through a couple hundred screenshots? wth? As for not knowing anyone with XP...I don't buy it. As for the "reward"...could care less.

just to let u know, i spent those 10 hours searching sites like wincustomize, customize, litestep.net, and lots other sites and even registered to about 20 sites just to search them to see if i could find wallpapers and a theme. if ur not interested, o well. and its not really an award, more of a gift for helping me. i would find some way to give more but at this time i cant. anywho, nice talking to ya so far, lol.

wow...20 sites to look for litestep themes? ARE there 20 sites to register for that have LS themes?? and you STILL didn't find one? ok, question...when you were looking........did you have your eyes open??

Posted by member 196328 on 2004-08-28 00:33:48 link

umm... dont you come to Litestep, to get away from explorer? anyway, the wallpaper is on your system already, go to control panel, then display. It is called bliss. Closest one I could find was called Lite XP, http://www.wincustomize.com/download.asp?SkinID=60&LibID=6. Heres a screenshot

PS: I dont see how it took you 10 hours to come up with nothing, and 30 seconds for me to come up with something. I agree with deuce... "did you have your eyes open??"

the closest i found also was xplite but the dang menu is messed and the lxcommand thing annoys the crap outta me. yes i came across a lot of stuff, found a bunch of other decent themes and wallpapers but xplite is all i found for a litestep theme that replicated xp luna. as for 10 hours of searching, i wasnt only searching for a theme, i also spent some of tht time searching for that wallpaper, searching for ways to "fix" or edit the xplite theme to do what i need and get rid of the lxcommand, trying to figure out why my pc was laggin (coem to find out right b4 i went to bed i had a bad case of alexa spyware). and also helped a friend with some things. also, i found the wallpaper last night, someone i knew (but really didnt know) had a perfect high quality copy. as for theme, i still could use either a better theme or edit this one to look like i want and do like i want. btw, it had taken me 5 hours to come across the xplite because well it was buried deep in a site (cant remember which, too many, lol) i think it was this one, lol. anywho, i found it and it was the ONLY one i found that actually looks a lot like xp luna. anywho, thanks random fire for the effort, lol. shows someone out there on the net is willing to help a total stranger.

o w/e. explorere sucks in more way than can be listed in this forum :-P in fact if i said what i thought about explorer in this forum, i bet i would be banned for life, lmao

Posted by member 197137 on 2004-08-29 09:25:46 link

at least all the explorer versions ive tried (95, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000). another thing, this forum would be a lot better if someone could edit their own posts, lol.

you "should" have an edit button on all of your posts. It only lasts for a couple days...but it is there, supposedly.

lmfao, i must be going blind. i so didnt see that and i looked. yes i know i have some probs, lol. thanks for pointing that out. btw, im sure ur thinking im an idiot, well i have an iq of about 140 but im somewhat dyslexic and some ADD along with a touch of insanity, lmao.

if you think explorer sucks - why are you so eager to get a LS theme looking exactly like it? *scratch*

Posted by member 197137 on 2004-08-30 11:56:27 link

its not the look of explorer i dont like, its the performance of explorer i dont like, lol. in fact, to be honest, the current litestep i use is actually pretty slow for a shell. too bad it isnt easier on the system. i mean even with the most minimalistic theme i could find litestep is still pretty slow.

btw, just to let u know, my pc specs are as follows:
CPU 533MHz
RAM 120MB
BUS 100Mhz
HDD 40GB 5200 RPM

which is slow and old, but not as slow and old as some peoples pcs.

get more ram and you will fly :D
/me has 1gig

As I have stated in many other threads...your machine is more than enough machine to handle LS. You more than likely have some modules loaded that slow you down. Then again...if explorer is running that slow you prolly have 20 or 30 spyware apps running along with a malware or two.

for one, this pc supports a max of 256MB RAM. and also there is no spyware on this pc, ive checked with numerous spyware finders and none came up. (spybot and adaware)

Dude, perhaps you just have a crappy video card. Sometimes these can make your computer seem slower than it is. My only computer is a 400MHZ Intel PII... I have been running litestep for a couple years now with no speed problems at all. And my ram has gone through all levels from 64 to 384MB. I started out on Litestep on a 266 MHz or something, and it ran just as well on that crapass Compaq system with integrated video... And I have been running audio production software all along as well.
