Maybe I'm being stupid or sumthing, but why do half the litestep themes not work cos they require dll files? Is there some other distrubution I'm missing? I've tried using every build

is there some pack which I can d/L which conatins all dll's in one setup so I don't have to get irrirating messages every time I attempt to install a theme?

litestep will connect to internet and will download missing modules...

Thing is, my PC is not connected to the net(I have the net at college), that's why I want a single, complete package of needed files.

I am fully aware of the different versions, etc as well as different themes needing different versions of files, etc.

is there package out there that Im looking for?

Unfortunately, no. There are three main sites to get modules at (loose-screws.com, ls-universe.info, shellfront.org), but no big packs of them.

I'd suggest you pick a few themes that you'd like to install, then download the required modules manually (see Cerbie's message above for locations), and tranfer those to your home computer or whatever you are tring to use litestep on. Make sure you get the correct versions. It is a pain in the @$$, agreed. That was my only complaint when OTS2 was introduced. Anything that is entirely reliant on an internet connection will eventually screw you. It's the same with the giant screen shots on this site; not very considerate to the people with dialup (considering alot of the screen shots are larger than the theme it self). But luckily I have a really nice cable connection at the moment. It's a shame there isn't a smaller screenshot fro 56k'ers (in addition to the larger screenshots).

Edit: I should note the I do appreciate the ease of install of themes if you DO HAVE a connection to the internet due to the OTS2.

To Ls.net:

Would'nt it be logical to place the needed files in your D/L section? cus even though we're in the age of the internet, I'm sure there are some people out there in my situation?

Much Obliged, thanks for your time

Last I talked to root, which was a while ago, the theme archive at SFO was over 18G. Trust me...you don't want a single file. As for putting all the "needed files" here for download...its a public site...upload what you got. We are not going to leach off other sites to build our own archive though. We have what we have because people put it there.

It's sorted now, I just DL'd like, most of the dll's, the top versions, mainly, came to 16.9Mb (If you're wondering how I get these home without a net connection, I'v fot a usb flashdrive)

still, thanks for your help.
