ok ive got a theme i really like, but its a 1600x1200 theme and my desktop reso is 1280x960, which makes some text unreadable. i was wondering how can i change the theme to fit my desktop rosloution?
I *think* that OTS2 themes should handle pretty much any resolutions. If not look in the theme.rc file. In there all the modules that are defined are given x/y locations on the desktop, and then height/width values. You can change these and resize everything to the size you want and with a bit of trial and error should be able to get what you want.
I think however you have to manually edit the image files, though I may be wrong, hopefully someone else who knows a bit more will follow this up.
OTS2 has nothing to do with resolutions - themes can be either resolution independent (although this often means to make some compromises) or support certain resolutions or only support one.
however in general, as Immoral2k stated, you can adjust positions so it fits to your screen.
hmmz... im a noob at this stuff, thanks for theinfo so far. but can some1 give me a little more detail?
everything you see on your desktop when running litestep is defined in the current theme's configuration files. most essential settings are probably coordinates and size of an element. by changing these settings, you can modify the theme so it fits your resolution. however, you'll probably need to get yourself into the details of how litestep (configuration) works, as you need to know what you need to reposition... as long as you don't recognize an element, it'll not be too easy to find out what it is, especially in themes which are rather complex.
give the theme name here, maybe there's someone to help you out ... i can't, as from now on i'm on vacation :P
anyway, good look :)
its called horizontal remix 2.0
i tihnk i got it from
http://www.deviantart.com
i can send it to some1, if they are willing to help. just give me your msn and ill do so. oh btw all i want edited is the font size actually. thx
what is it that you need to alter the font size of?
task bar?
popup?
if you find the theme's folder then there will most likely be a config folder that contains all the rc config files.
find the file that pertains to the item you want to edit, open that and search for fontsize.
increase the font size, recycle and it should work
ok thanks, but ive moved on to using nonstep as my theme. im slowly learning how to use litestep.
