Right-click on taskbar does nothing Thread last updated on 2004-07-08 15:45:36

Okay, I'm stumped; hoping someone here can help. It used to be, when I right-clicked a task, I got a popup with the program's menu. Now, a few reinstalls and upgrades later... nada. I right-click, and absolutely nothing happens.

Changed back to RC1 and 2 in turn, nothing. Reloaded numerous times, nothing. Checked the .rc files, and the syspopup command is there, and appears to be in order.

Next suggestions?

is it with all your themes? or only with 1 certain theme?

Check that you're using the same module/version as you were before?

Stalefist, it was half and half; I fiddled around a bit, and now on right-click I get the standard "minimize/maximize/restore/close" menu, which is what I get on other themes, too. I'm still not getting the full system popup for each program, though.

jpr1nd, I am. Double-checked even though I didn't remember changing, and yep - same tasks.dll mod. Even reinstalled and reverted to the theme prior to my tweaking, and still no syspopup.

Thanks, though, guys; at least now I have *something*!

do you actually have:
TasksMButton2 !popup

specified somewhere in the theme, or in your personal files?

Deuce: it's actually specified as:
TasksMButton2 .syspopup

The docs say this is the default, so presumably what I had before, and should give the system menu of the program. If I change it to !popup, I get my desktop right-click menu.

Hm. As I'm guessing this shouldn't be the case, am now off to check my include-file settings to see if I forgot something.

oh, sorry. I thought you were TRYING to get the popup. but after reading it again, I see that's not the case.

Ah, well, thanks anyway. If it's any consolation, your solution works just as you expected!
