To date, has anyone built a WYSIWYG theme editor?

I think LSTM2 comes close. I think something that has all the litestep !Bangs etc and tells you where settings and how the file system works/scripting works would be nice especially for people who won't read the docs no matter how many people say read the docs.

as long as there's no standard (and as people build their themes so many different ways, there won't be a standard in near future) which forces module authors to create and deliver an evar-settings/bang list in that standard's format with their modules, there won't be anything like it.
the only thing i can think of is that many users stick together and form kind of a project which always provides updates as soon as a new module/version is out, for what is the benefit of an outdated editor?
but however, to make such an approach, you would need to be sure people actually make use of it, which i doubt a bit...

A rather simple solution would be to develop a "toolkit" of sorts... where the theme-editor relies on static modules, (ie, always and forever uses vtray for the systray, rainmeter for sys monitoring, jdesktop for the desktop, etc.) Themes created with this theme maker would always use the same module versions. Being restricted to only certain modules (and versions) would ensure that the theme maker would always work (disregarding any major changes to the Litestep build), and create useable themes. Of course the intention is not a replacement for text editing of themes, but as an alternative route for those without the comfortability in intricate editing.

Actually, now that I think of it, you could possibly make a "theme" that itself acted as such a Theme-Editor... lots o'scripting I'm sure, but it certainly seems possible...

Please, feel free to add your thoughts.

Hey guys, refer to my other thread for my request for help for my sortof WYSIWYG editor in the works. I know I'm about to piss you all off, but once you see how I'm pulling this off, you might not be so apprehensive.

why is your other thread not in this thread?

well I read this thread after I made mine. regardless, I figured my thread was asking for help with my editor, while this one is about editors in general. I guess I could move my request here if you want (you're in charge here, right? ;) )
