I've done some searching and it seems shell replacements don't allow the iconpackager to change folder icons. Although I have found a few sites mentioning the problem I have yet to see a solution. Anyone have an idea?
I figured it out, using the program "Replacer" to get past windows file protection I replaced the shell32.dll in the system32 folder with a new reshacked version but what most reshacking tutorials don't tell you is you have to replace the (drive):\windows\ServicePackFiles\shell32.dll as well. I had no idea there were 2 of them. By the way, thx for the help with all the posts that came after my question, I can tell the people on this forum are really helpful. =|
thanks for the tip. this is the first replacement app that circumvented the file protection on my w2k sp4 system!

how do you reshack the dll file? I understand what you did, but not how you get what you want.
