Looking for the code to have a Tasks popup, but one that only shows the tasks for the current desktop/workspace. Even better, a way to show the tasks for a specific desktop by shift-clicking on that desktop....

!popuptasks give a list of all running tasks, irrespective of which desktop they're running on.....
Tasks modules typically don't know the concept of "virtual desktops". Instead, look for a setting in your VWM module. VWMHideTasksOnSwitch or something like that. Not all VWMs support it though.
the command you want to enable is "VWMHideTaskOnSwitch", which works for both rabidvwm and ckvwm. then, when you bring up the tasks list (through a popup as well as in a taskbar), it'll only show the tasks running on that desktop.
If you're using OTS2 be sure to check your personal.rc for this setting instead of using it in the theme.rc
