i've been an active litestepper starting from this year, but i was introduced to ls couple of years ago. then there was no ots or installers and i was pretty young so the learning curve was a little too steep, but now i don't imagine myself using explorer as the shell.

bit over two years. actually started with 24.5--occasionally i get this urge to just install new software without doing any research and see if it works out of the box. it did, (AFTER i figured out--all by myself ;p--how to resore it from the 'you must reinstall windows' screen) but it was ugly, so i did some reading, upgraded, and got some themes from the old purple ls.com. (i still remember staring at those hundreds of screenshots thinking, "good lord, there's over four hundred different styles here...i can make my desktop look however i want it to...) eventually started theming, began three but only released one. currently running tnl's 'xij' (slightly modified) on 24.7b3, winxp pro. i never run explorer unless i'm also running lsxcommand, hotkey, popup, and dynamp on top of it.

I can safely say that nobody in here has used LS for 6 years. To use LS fot 6 years you needed to come in with LSB3 or earlier.

99, couldn't understand it at first, i hated the default theme, but someone showed me Lowdimension, a theme made by lowspirit (currently working on sharpe) and loved it.

we need to accept that OTS was a really good idea, after that, themes came with litestep inside the zip, you didn't can choose between themes :P

TeleFragger: Considering B3 wasn't a public release and the first public release happened a year later I find you off a bit unless you were just friends with Lone and well...that would be a bit rare.

hmm...pardon me, how do we know that there is 40000+ litestep user in the world?

Posted by member 6801 on 2003-08-07 11:47:42 link

good question, im just guided for the quantity of registered users in ls.net :)

I've only been using LS since near the beginning of the year. But I had fantasised about creating my own theme for a year or two before that. Explorer lacks basic ergonomics for an interface. I had searched for other shells but Desktop X was all I found. At the beginning of the year one of my favourite PC magazines did a special on alternative shells. LS was the first I tried since the price was right. LS was so perfect I never bothered looking at the others.

i am using it since i know of it. obviously betwen 3 - 5 yrs. Blueheart was the first godly theme i ever used. hehe long time... that theme still is the best... cool. totally.

Yeah, I was introduced to LS in grade 10/11 by a buddy of mine, in circa 1998 (heh) so it's been a few years, but then I moved out, went to college and didn't have a system it would run on, then baught my own system, ran explorer for a week until I found a LS download, and haven't used explorer (except on a fresh format, and have to install LS). I've been themeing for myself for a while, but haven't finished anything (yet, soon... very soon).

addicted since 1998.
inspired by ls, even tried to delete explorer.exe completelly -- lol, may it be safer in the future :) .
inspired again, found in $windir$ some other garbage (welcome.exe, tuneup.exe, tour98.exe, ask-for-more) of great importance to the system.
LoneRunnr (at least) deserves a monument!
