Shortcut Z-Ordering Thread last updated on 2003-03-25 22:59:53

Hey Guys, I have a question. Everytime I use Shortcut(2 or 3).dll, I am having difficulties keeping my eyecandy last in the z-order. If I have a bar overlayed with icons for instance the second I click the bar (null click no action) the bar comes up and my icons go bye-bye. Any Ideas. I have tried z-order commands only to find that if I use (b or z-order bottom) that the shortcut dissapears completely.

how about adding a 'k' flag to the shortcut ?

or use a pre-2000.12.15 version of shortcut2.dll

I've found that loading order is important. If you want shortcuts over another module load shortcut first. The same thing goes for each shortcut definition. The first shortcut defined goes on top of the second and so on. This doesn't work with shortcut3 though (as far as I know).

i guess you have that bar shortcut with a T-flag? i had the same problem. don´t use T with a background image (actually don't use it at all, if it's not a must).
and yes, like milk said, when you're using shortcut2.dll load the shortcuts from the top to the bottom ;)

Nice to see the loading thingie works for others too. Thought I should point out that it works for all modules, e.g loading chronos before shortcut2 gets chronos ontop of shortcut, but maybe that's obvious.

removing the T-flag may solve (part of) these z-order problems, but could just as much harm the ontop-consistency of themes. and the K-flag imo works to a certain extent only.
sofar the only effective way is using a pre-20001214 build of shortcut2.dll
this oldie didnt let me down, even in combination with 0.24.7
