Explorer and shortcut2.dll Thread last updated on 2003-02-14 08:31:37

I'm still using explorer as my shell but I have litestep running over top of it for VWM, geekamp, rainmeter, and a number of other modules. My problem is that everything I make using shortcut2.dll shows up in the taskbar for explorer. I use that module for all my graphics so is there another module I could use or some way I can fix this problem?

for shortcut2 to disappear from the task manager/taskbar you'll probably need to load a desktop module before you load shortcut2... which is most likely incompatible with explorer... try it and post back here with the results.

try to use no caption for the shortcut, that worked with layercut.

instead of

*Shortcut "File Manager" 100 100 ...

use

*Shortcut "" 100 100 ...

I loaded up jdesk.dll as the first module in the loadlist and it got rid of the shortcuts in the taskbar. I just tried it a few minutes ago but there are no appearent incompatibilities yet. I assume that if it was going to have a problem, it would have crashed on recycle.

Thanks

just out of curiousity... why don't you just load LS as only shell?
