systray refuses to show my netcounter application, which is one of the most important applications I have (duo to network traffic limitations and this pc is mainly for web).
Does anyone experience problem?
P.S. - Maybe it's related to the program itself?
I used to have the same problem with a couple programs. try updating to the latest indie.
Well,I have the same problem. I have indie 0.24.6 and Windows XP SP1 and use Netcount(portuguese net counter). I also tried to use grdTray with no results.I find it odd since it's the only application that doesn't show on the tray.I also searched for more info on the forums and find that are some probs with DesktopX with the TrayServer.exe process. I'm waiting for the 0.24.7 for some corrections and if not appear I'll ask to the Netcount programmer for a resolution... That's my story...
This still occurs with systray2 and .24.7. Or perhaps mine is a slightly different problem. All my applications show up initially, but if I close litestep for any reason and then reopen it, some will not reappear. Perhaps because they are already running and the programs themselves are not written to execute the 'add icon to systray' command.

that was a bug with an old build of LS and older system tray modules...but was fixed as soon as IndyStep was started. make sure you are not using an old Systray2 or an old build. I doubt it is all apps.
You're right DeVilbOi.. it doesn't happen in all apps. Only one.Since I use .24.6 systray2.dll you're telling me that the problem is with the app?
i'm having the problem with Kazaa. i'm using systray2 v1.90.
ok, you must not understand what I mean by indie. 0.24.6 is NOT an indie build, that's actually an official release. to get the latest indie build, go to
http://indiestep.sourceforge.net and download the latest stable build. if the problem still occurs after upgrading, then get back to us.
Well, i've done that (now i have the 2003-02-09 build, before i had the one with the omar instalation), but the program still doesn't appear on the tray. I checked systray2.dll version and it's 1.89. Any ideas?
Egonz: Where did you find the 1.90 version?
Could someone give an url to one of the programs that aren't showing in tray (eg. where to download netcounter, found a lot of programs called that).
in 0.24.6 (ILS 2003-May-17) of course :)
I mean which program you are not seeing in the tray of LiteStep... which version of kazaa/netcounter/other program that doesn't show it's icon and where to download them.
the latest indie build is actually at shellfront, not at the indiestep site:
http://www.shellfront.org/lsdev. (but see, it's not
actually an indie build, because it's a shellfront build, but it's built off the latest indiestep cvs, so i think the identifier is something like "indiestep-shellfront-20030517"...*cough*) and of course, vendicator's vtray, the updated-hacked systray2, is at
http://vendicator.shellfront.org
@namaide: it actually is an indie build, but a "nightly" one so it's not official and not declared "stable" as ILS 9-Feb-2003, which you can find at indiestep's site.
@Vendicator: i'm using Kazaa Lite 2.0.2 and you can download it from
http://www.kazaalite.tk
btw it's returning an error in the log:
TrayMan: No msg passed to systray, msg:0, ico:0, tip:4, hwnd: 0x26003C, classname: KaZaA
the Kazaa Lite icon should be fixed in 0.24.7...
I have a similar problem, the only icon that shows up in my systray is the Audio Properties icon... I just installed litestep. Is this common? It does this on all of the themes ive tried.
is there any reason at all to still be using the indiestep builds? .24.7 is perfectly stable and it fixes all kinds of system tray issues...
stimpy: this isnt a problem with litestep, but with the apps themselves... if youll notice, if you close the explorer shell (or it crashes), those same icons will be missing when it starts up again.
rizen: search your list of programs running at startup for a program called trayserver.exe, and remove it... its from desktopx (i think, i dont quite remember), and it messes with the system tray.
