people demand a link to download LS from a theme oriented site so we obligue. then in time that isn't good enough and a downloads section is forced to be written. now that we have a downloads section nobody bothers to use it. ARGH! sometimes i REALLY hate this community.

ok i looked some more and found one, but it doesnt work with NT platforms. With win2k built on NT technology, that counts as my computer. Any links to one compatible with NT platforms?

uhmmm...LS has been compatible with NT since NT4 rolled out.

Where does it say that "it doesn't work with NT platforms"?

Never mind, it worked. It ***** up my desktop and I deleted it. I hate Litestep, goodbye.

It seems a lot of people switch to LS for the wrong reasons. Explorer is a perfectly acceptable shell so I don't know why some people bother.

I love it when people install litestep, and expect nothing to change. (ie. this jacka$$) and doc, explorer is ok, it's not very configurable.

k, that guy just ruined my mood :(
it's sad that there are people like mozf, who don't ever bother to explore a thing before they start yelling that they hate it and everything's so evil.
just sad :(

damn m$ brainwashing :(

ok bitch im not an ass, and litestep is great, its just not for me. Note that I said i hate it, and that i didnt say that it is bad. My most useful programs dont show up on my desktop, and with Litestep, theres no interface to add them to the start menu. I may add them under explorer and reinstall Litestep. Just dont be so quick to insult me.

"My most useful programs dont show up on my desktop"

Desktop icons is a per-theme feature. Some themes use it and some themes don't. Some themes make it optional. Either way, with a little research you will find it's easy to add or configure this feature.

"theres no interface to add them to the start menu"

What sort of interface are you looking for? The LS popup doesn't support dragging and dropping icons but it you want to add an icon, open the popup then right-click on the folder you want to add it too then select Explore and create your shortcut the normal way though your file manager and it will appear in the popup.

If you want to modify the first level of icons you will need to edit your popup.rc file in a text editor.

You will find we are a very helpful community here provided you are polite and always search the forums or do some basic research before posting a question.
