So which module is better (efficient, stable, etc.) for displaying do-nothing images? The sheer size of the label module makes me want to try to make do without it...

well, which of them does your theme already use? if the images arent going to do anything i would use whichever one you are already using for other parts of your theme
if you arent using either, i would probably go with shortcut for images that dont do anything

until Label.dll supports real transparency and better yet alpha blended .png support (big hint) I will stick with layercuts. it's big too but it gets most of the job done. HINT HINT.

Why is it that no one has yet to fix that most basic of missing things I don't know. All I can say is label.dll is a very nice and complex module. A module I could make MUCH more use of if it had the features I listed.

If you're not using either one yet, but you're already usinh lsbox, you could use that one as well. It supports its own shortcuts ithout having to load shortcut2.

stim.dll

heh... well, right now i have shortcut2 and label running, but that crazy 100kb module is only displaying a few images... so i'll probably replace the job with shortcut2, if that sounds like a good idea. I'm obsessed with minimizing the number of modules i use and the possibility of any bugs/conflicts. Thanks

Even if label is 100 KB there are 4 KB modules that use more memory than label. Filesize != memory usage.

what is 100kb on today's computers ?

thanks sryo ^_^ but actually rabid's module, i can't remember the name, now, whitebox or something like that, looks to be a lot better than stim.dll. ilmcuts is right, but if you're already using shortcut2 and not using label for displaying anything other than static images, that's ridiculous. use shortcut2 for everything.

Labels are designed to display text. Shortcuts are designed to display images.
