actually, grdtray started it. ;) Anyway, the settings are called SystrayIconHueIntensity, SystrayIconHueColor, and SystrayIconSaturation. They work exactly like in grdtray, except that HueColor is RGB and not BGR.
Some versions of tasks.dll support this as well.
