aha! this could be it.. on the xyplorer wiki page it says that you create a key called xyplorer with the value open in xyplorer and then replace the default value of HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell with that key.. erm or something like that. I might give xyplorer a go, it's worth the 40 bucks if it works..
