I don't know. It would be cool to do a Wiki, but the hosting requirements are greater for that (I suppose), and I really have no clue how to go about setting one up. For now I suppose just post question-and-answer style in this thread, until I (or you!) figures something out.
BTW, 'filemanager blindness'? I'm unfamiliar with this particular problem :P.
