Dfileman. It basically looked like Explorer w/o toolbars, single-pane, and double-clicking in blank space brought you up a directory. I considered the interface perfect...but it had trouble w/ network drives and UNC paths.

edit: decided I'd go find a copy and try it again...and what luck would I have, but it works fine w/ network drives. Goodbye explorer and your 50px more toolbar padding.
