What to add and where Thread last updated on 2003-04-29 09:24:55

I got a problem with this module called lslm.app
When I try to load the theme using it I get this:

Error: Could not find initModuleEx()

Please confirm that the dll is a Litestep module,
and check with the author for updates

So I downloaded a new verison (1.16).

The readme says:
Installation
------------
Just copy the files you found in this archive to your LiteStep\\modules
directory (including the LSLM subdirectory!).

Then you have to add the following line to your step.rc:

;===========(Begin) Wharf.dll Entries=================
[...]
*Wharf "LS Load Monitor" "*wharfblank.bmp" "@$LiteStepDir$modules\lslm.app"
[...]
;===========(End) Wharf.dll Entries===================

I have tried to add all forms of this at all kind of places but it doesn't work, some help would be great!

do you have warf.dll loaded? that file is *really* old.

I do, need it for a theme (nIx step). But that one works, it's the lslm that does not work. Does it matter where in the .rc file I add it?

When I use the config for lslm and try to alter "LSDir variable name in step.rc", I get this message:

" Variable "LiteStepDir" not found in "@$LiteStepDir$c:\LiteStep\themes\nixstep\step.rc"
Check the spelling!" "

What should I add and where? Please, I need help!

Dont alter the "LitestepDir" evar, since it already point to the folder where litestep is.
Then, replace "@$LiteStepDir$c:\LiteStep\themes\nixstep\step.rc" with "@$LiteStepDir$themes\nixstep\step.rc"

But I don't have that line anywhere, it is an errormessage I get when using LSLMConfig in order to try to set up the script. The readme says I should add that line, should I add yours in the RC?

I no longer get the error message from the LSLMConfig, but I get:

"Variable "LiteStepDie" not found in step.rc" when I try to load this theme, and then I get "Error: Could not find initModuleEx()

Please confirm that the dll is a Litestep module,
and check with the author for updates" again. I've been stuck with this for over 9h, I so want it to work!

Yes, lslm is litestep module; but a very old one. No one use it since there's rainmeter which do much and better. I don't know if it is still supported by the current litestep core. I don't know how old is the theme and the version of litestep you're using.
I don't know what I can tell you. Perhaps try to define "LitestepDir" at the beginig of the step.rc

LitestepDir "Drive:\Path\To\Litestep\Directory"

IMO: don't waste too much time with this.

not sure if this helps but I have a few new themes that use that one module umm....best bet for what your trying is to go download one (afaik phrostedember.deviantart.com has one can't emember the name,also those themes are here to author I believe is out-of-bloom)and read thru they're readmes and step.rc also that particular theme he mentioned needed the module.ini file ...hope that helps

This is a really old module, I'm not sure if it will work with the current builds. You might want to try to get a wharf.dll from an earlier build of 0.24.6 (from 1999 or 2000) and use it instead of the current one.

It's not the wharf.dll, I have that (from an older) and it works great. Everything except lslm is working, I guess I replace it with something else/newer. Thanks for trying to help anyways guys!

On a side note, LsNetLoad.dll also returns the same error (wharf.dll is loaded) so unless I'm missing something, it also can be classified with the outdated modules.
