Please verify the location of the file and try again.

the prob is once i press ok, litestep dies and i cant do anything....soo....obviously its still trying to boot litestep up. And i didnt see any xp specific documentation, kinda read the 2k documentation on uninstall....

Your setup is still looking for the LiteStep shell because it is still configured. You will get conflict errors if you try and delete the LS executable or any modules in use, but not the step.rc which deletes no problem. Best bet is to search your registry for litestep.exe and replace all entries with the info for explorer.exe as explained in the uninstall docs for 2K.

Since the litestep executable seems to still exist on your system you could also try to hit ctrl-alt-f1 when that error message is shown and choose "uninstall litestep".

but, do it before hitting ok to that error message
