Hi all. I'm new to litestep. I'm just curious if anyone else has run across this problem. I use Trillian (client for AIM/ICQ/etc) and when you 'close' trillian, it puts it down in the systray. Now, I've read up on the systray problems (I'm running win2k) and I think I fixed them with the systray.dll change and all that, but trillian still dissapears as soon as I 'close' it. People can still message me, but I can't get trillian back up unless I end task it and then reboot it. Any suggestions on how to make it show up in the systray. Any ideas on getting it back at all would be welcome too for a temporary fix.
Thanks all in advance.
heh, I noticed I can't get AIM to connect on trillain...ICQ works fine, but no AIM....
really? I haven't had any problems using trill/aim/litestep aside from my dissapearing issue
I run Trillian Pro version 1.01 with no problems. I'm also running the latest Indiestep version of Litestep. (12/9/02)
First off, for anyone that has DesktopX installed on their systems. DesktopX (regardless if it's running) runs two programs (Don't remember those program names) on startup that prevents systray2.dll from properly functioning. Check your task manager at startup for 2 systray programs if you have DesktopX installed.
Second, I always recommend running the latest LS version. (12/09/02)
If that doesn't help, I haven't encountered any other issues with the latest version of systray2.dll.
don't use any of these "win2k systray fixes" or whatever they are called, most of them are really old (two years and more) and only make things worse. Stick to a recent build and the systray2 that came with it.
As I just found out, if you blink at the wrong time in this community, you miss something. :)
The latest release of LS is now 02/01/03 :D

God bless Litestep!
P.S. As ilmcuts said, the latest release of systray2.dll should fix almost all your problems.
Ok, I switched back to the main and updated my build. It seems to be working now. Thanks all!
Miranda All the Way

Miranda eh? I'll have to try that.
gaim is the way to go. It looks very pretty and it combines ICQ/MSN/napster/IRC/aim/yahoo...I've missed some.
I don't see the aim plugin for miranda :-/
Gaim eh? sheesh.
oh, n/m, I see it.. have to use jabber. Bleh, no socks5 support.. ack.. so much for using it at work.
