Ok, I went and got myself the litestep installer by Omar Hussain. Installed it, everything went fine. Until I got back to windows, with the simplicity theme loaded... I found out this rather strange thing. http://ff.0wns.org/themes/litestep.gif I'm sure it shouldn't look like that, right? And yeah, it seems that explorer shell is under litestep, I can paint those shortcuts, and when I right click in that area, I get the old windows popup. How the hell do I get rid of it?

I didn't want to mess up anything with reg editing anymore. And since the installer should have made correct and I didn't I ran out of ideas. Any ideas how to fix that?

Easy - get rid of the icons. It's probably a bug with the module. I never used icons in simplicity anyway.

edit step.rc and remove the LoadModule deskfolder.dll line

i'm not sure I understand the problem - are you just trying to get rid of the desktop icons?

if you want to get rid of those desktop icons, just hold down shift, LEFT-click the desktop, then click 'disable desktop icons'

pretty... simple, no? :P
