The litestep log reads:
04-11-2003 21:19:44 - DllMgr: Could not load "C:\litestep\LiteMAN.dll"

litestep and litestep themes follow a certain structure now...you need to make sure of a few things.

1) I suppose LS was working fine before you added the theme so I will start at the theme debugging.

2) most theme structures are as follows "c:\litestep\themes\themename

3) c:\litestep\themes\themename\step.rc is the main config file for the theme, somewhere in there it is calling c:\litestep\liteman.dll which obviously doesn't exist.

4) if the theme came with liteman and its in c:\litestep\themes\themename\modules edit your step.rc to reflect its propper location.

5) if it is not in the themes modules dir, you can get the module from loose screws, or just comment it out of your step.rc entirely, but I highly recommend liteman.dll it is nice to have.

6) given everything here, I would just download the dll and put it in c:\litestep

Hope that helps,

ok i fixed the log error Could not load "C:\litestep\LiteMAN.dll"
now i got a new error:

failed to create overlay no fourcc codes

hmm...I suppose my response doesn't help...you should have asked your question in the "themes" forum or anoter related forum, not the "site" forum..you would get better help there.

seems to be a problem with the rainmeter addon at this point.

comment each module out one by one and recycle...see when it stops complaining.

ok i got it to stop complaining, but now when litestep loads the theme.. when i right click my screen at first the module would popup and the startmenu would go back to the old style windows xp startmenu/ and now the module doesnt even come up?

Good to hear...

conclusion: litestep is more hassle then it's worth.

as explained on the front page...it is not for everybody.

In the beginning you need patience, a lot of patience until you understand how everything works. IMO it pays off in the end.

I remember back in my day when I started using Litestep. It was the summer of 19diggety2. We didn't have fancy schmancy forums back then, we had to figure this crap out all by out selves. Man did that suck.

but it made you into a real man...not one of these push-over babies

I've fine tuned my step.rc so much over the years that I can't even remember the last time I changed it...

I mean...the whole idea behind litestep is to have a fully functional and customizable desktop that you can change to fit your needs and expectations...at first you won't find a theme that can do that, but given time you can find modules and such that allow you to do so.
