I am having kind of a strange problem that I can't seem to find the answer to. I tried to use Daemon tools to mount a game iso and nothing was happening. I switched back to the standard Windows shell and Daemon tools worked as normal. Does anyone know what might be preventing Daemon tools to function properly when using litestep? Also, any kind of game or software cd doesn't appear to bring up any kind of install prompt, so I'm guessing that this problem isn't limited to Daemon Tools.
AutoRun is part of the exploer shell if I remember right. I have used Daemon Tools from within LS without a problem. Then again I have never used it from Explorer so I don't know if it acts differently.
some apps have problems with LS, it's weird. zonealarm has a problem to, were the internet access prompts don't display correctly.
and DeViLbOi - :)
Well until I find a solution I guess I can always just switch back to explorer whenever I need to install something.
What happens when you try to manually mount the image?
Please file a bug report for any application that doesn't run correctly under LS. You can either send an email to the lsdev team contact address, or use the bug tracker. You can find these things at
http://www.lsdev.org
after testing this myself, i found that the image is not mounted normally. if you try and mount an image, it will not be mounted until you close daemon tools. although it still gets mounted, you have to close deamon tools first.
i will file a bug report if one does not already exist.
daemon tools actually has a window? I've only ever used the systray icon. That would explain why I never had a problem I guess.
huh? it has a window?
i've never seen a window...
i meant right-click on the system tray icon and click exit. however, deamon tools works when switching iso's just the first one that is mounted that seems to reguire a restart of deamon tools.
Thanks crazy2be, your little work around does the trick nicely.
yeah, don't know what the problem is. for some reason it must have trouble starting the virtual driver required to mount the iso, but the fact that it works when you close it is beyond me.
and i still need to file a bug report :)
they thing is, my last one turned out to be a user error, so i'm being cautious about this one :)
deamon tools also works if you launch it from the command line, although i suppose that is because it automatically exits.
