Double monitor themes. Thread last updated on 2008-07-04 20:56:18

Hello.

I'm very new to the litestep. I'm seeking a shell that could handle double monitor display.

One the main monitor I want to display full screen games/apps and on the second one I need all the other stuff:
•a start menu equivalent
•buttons to control foobar2000/winamp
•fields for pop3/cpu/gpu/ram etc. monitoring
Also I would really like to see some integration of desktop with the Internet, like weather prognosis, rss readers, xfire/miranda32 funcionality.

Do you guys could propose me something?

I propose that they are all possible. However, I can tell you that if an app is in full screen mode you can not switch to the next monitor to do anything over there, like advance to the next track in foobar.

Thanks for assuring me that this is possible. But I was hoping for more concrete answer.
I used "fullscreen mode" instead of "maximalized borderless windowed mode" to avoid offtopic disscusion ;]

Finding help on litestep is very discouraging. Every link I follow is either outdated, not for newbies or dead with some porn site insted... Or full of offtopic rubbish forum post.

full screen mode or maximalized borderless windowed mode...the app will lock your mouse into it and you can't use LS until you disconnect from the full screen app.

As for finding good new user friendly information...go to the links section and hit up the Wiki. It will help you out a lot.

see DeViLbOi, no n00bs look at the links section ;)

I guess I will just delete it then.

no, it's useful, but we need a noobs forum to tell all the noobs about the links section, and were they can find all the information.

So I need a forum that tells new users that links can be found on the tab links and downloads can be found on the tab labeled downloads? WEAK! Try again.

You guys are amusing :)
Links page:

If you can see this page, then the people who manage this server have installed cPanel and WebHost Manager (WHM) which use the Apache Web server software and the Apache Interface to OpenSSL (mod_ssl) successfully.

2.On fractaldesignz I read:
New Album "Goodbye Kitty"
A new acoustic guitar based album with elements of electro pop, jazz, blues and classical guitar.
Get "Goodbye Kitty" here
How can this be litestep related? Nevermind moving on. Shoundn't the link be pointing there instead: http://www.fractaldesignz.orconhosting.net.nz/Litestep/index.htm
Anyway last update was in 2007.

3. lite-step.de
Some dead site. Only adds and "search engines".

4. http://www.nbi-studio.com
A working site, but no n00bs tutorials on front page anywhere. I'm not talking about installing of litestep or themes couse you get that in readme.txt.

5. http://www.ls-themes.org
Another themes site. Déjà vu? I can see the same screenshots as at previous site.

6. http://wiki.litestep.com.ar/Index
Let's see http://wiki.litestep.com.ar/Litestep:Tutorials
This section contains various different tutorials, small or big, to help you create the effects you want when building your own theme or modifying an existing one.

I'm not interesed in building my own theme. Should I?

Timed out.

Why did you point me to links page? Sorry for flaming, you started.

Not my problem??? If a user submits a link and it contains LS information when I go there it gets approved. What happens in the years after I approve it is not on us. If you would like to go through and test all 78 links I will be happy to remove those that are not working. Personally I don't have the time to do it.

As for you getting the answer to the question. You properly identified the Wiki you need to read. Once you are familiar with basic theme design you could edit any existing theme to do exactly what you want. If you don't want to edit a theme, you will need to make one from scratch that suits your needs.

DeV really didn't say anything wrong... didn't come off as an *** to me.

You can find the answer to questions by looking around and reading. They are out there, and they are findable.
