theme problems (already checked stickies =3) Thread last updated on 2008-06-02 09:57:11

A few themes I'm trying to run are all OTS2 compatible according to the files I looked at, and yet they still refuse to display correctly and often give me a blank screen followed by the missing modules errors. They act as if they're old themes, but they aren't. And I used the backwards compatibility option when installing LiteStep.

The first time I ran the theme it installed all of the necessary modules, and then gave me all these missing module errors. The following attempts all it gave me was a blank screen.

Another problem I'm running into is when I get a theme to work, the title bar (or whatever you call it; its bar at the top of a window with icon, title, minimize, maximize, close) keeps the windows theme/style. Even when in the default style, the title bar holds onto the default windows xp style.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

~Nate

By your last question I know you didn't read the stickies at all. Until you do...NO HELP FOR YOU!

Missing modules will get you a pretty splotchy interface. What modules does it say is missing? Are those modules in your modules folder? What installer did you use?

Ah! I discovered the source of my problems. It was: my stupidity. I simply installed LiteStep wrong =/. Sorry I didn't realize this sooner.

Unfortunately I still can't find an answer to my last question. How can I get the title bar of applications to display with the set theme? I looked in the stickies >.>

Edit: WAIT A SECOND do themes for LiteStep change window appearances at all? Or did I just assume it did and I'm an idiot (x2)?

I read the stickies, but didn't bother reading any of the replies, which had answers to all my questons -_-.

All is well now, thanks devilboi. And sorry for the stupidity on my part xD

I can't get the window borders to theme either. I've tried WindowBilinds, MWShell, StyleXP, and uxtheme.dll patch, like it said in the sticky, but none worked. Can anyone help me with this?

After you installed them did you install a theme for the associated application?
