The following should show your desktop icons on the left of the screen. Note that the color settings are BGR (folderview 1.1). Get folderview.dll here: http://www.loose-screws.com/mdownload.php?id=58

LoadModule "$ModulesDir$folderview.dll"

*folder **** font(Comic) fontColor(FF0000)
*folder 10 72 294 840 desktop #1b

where would one put folder view to make this work? o.0

heh, well, i figured out what to do (by reading the instructions ^^;;) but, the icons all appear in the left of the desktop and have little room, does anyone know offhand what parameters i need to change to expand the area?

Nowadays I wouldn't really recommend folderview any more. Try IconDesk instead. Folderview has a few nasty issues (though IconDesk apparently has a few of its own as well).
