XP Pro X64 SP2 and still can't use LS. :( I miss it so.

If I remember correctly the move from 16 to 32bit computing went soo much smoother.

Windows 2000 Professional SP4 for me...

Hunh. I like that. You might want to warn others... I clicked on "View Results" before I voted. Now, the little vote window states that I already voted.

I must have chosen "None of the above" ?

Posted by member 31 on 2008-04-24 10:02:53 link

There is a warning... right next to view results it says "(null vote)" or some such.

I have purchased litestep .I have a folder that says all about this on my comp. every time I tried to put in the register key It would tell me that is the wrong one.

Posted by member 1 on 2008-04-25 13:31:13 link

Where did you "purchase" LiteStep from?

Posted by member 212670 on 2008-04-25 18:56:29 link

Hey scooter... I have a ton of themes for sale if you want.

j/k ;)

Posted by member 318646 on 2008-05-01 06:37:21 link

you remember wrong, the move to 16 bit was horrid. And 64 is going much smoother thanks to ignorant people clogging up the pipestream and just saying "Screw this", and proving how ignorant and stupid they are (aren't idiots, I mean commoners, great?)

Also windows Vista Custom (You hack the heck out of it and tell me it's stil windwos Vista home Prem.)

I use Vista now... so I don't think LiteStep works

Posted by member 26753 on 2008-05-06 02:10:55 link

I've been using Litestep with Windows2000 until last year, when I moved to using Windows XP Pro SP3. It'll be making that moronic OS look better for a veeery looong time, as far as I'm concerned.

Posted by member 1 on 2008-05-06 07:59:15 link

I think you mean XP Pro SP2...as SP3 was released just last week for a couple hours before MS pulled it off WindowsUpdate.

Posted by member 95208 on 2008-05-10 04:13:43 link

I use LiteStep on XP64 Pro SP2. Works fine but it's very annoying that I have to use the taskmanager to access the windows control Panel (64 bit version)

Not currently running Litestep, but running Windows Server 2008 x64, converted to "Workstation 2008"

Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP1

Posted by member 998 on 2008-05-24 00:20:07 link

Although Windows Vista has a low number of users, I think it's best for litestep to focus development on that version since the XP line is in the queue for EOL. If LS continues to focus on the pre-XP/XP line of OSes, then it's queuing itself for obsolescence.

Posted by member 212670 on 2008-05-24 02:11:35 link

I would imagine this poll is to see how far backwards to go, not how far forward to stop. :P

But about Vista, it stinks like WinME to me.

Posted by member 134680 on 2008-06-05 22:32:30 link

I have stopped developing LS themes until ls works on vista 64. I actually loathe vista 64 with all my heart, but for certain game dev hobbies of mine i must use it.
I would be glad to make the default LS theme for a vista 64 (and server 2k8) compatible litestep though.

XP x64 SP2. I miss LiteStep. :(

Fortunately I've been able to compile it myself along with a few modules but not everything in my old theme has source code available.

Currently XP Professional x64 Edition SP2

Previously XP Professional 32-Bit SP3

The reason for the switch to XP64 was simple ram limitations I upgraded to 4GB of ram plus I have a 1GB video card so it was a necessary evil really, but also 64-bit computing has some big advantages in music production so that's another part of the story.

Posted by member 93947 on 2008-08-18 08:07:57 link

I hope you were aware of the /PAE switch and it just didnt work for you, else you burden yourself with the 64bit problems for no reason ( been there myself :-/ )

Posted by member 1 on 2008-08-18 08:23:14 link

And for good measure...all of the switches and their uses...

Which should I choose if I use Wine(screenshot)?

It may work better now... That's an old screenshot and I haven't tried recently.

The most widely supported OS for LS is XP32.
