Most themes do not have desktop icons enabled and if they do they often have an option to turn them off. Which theme are you using?

I installed a new theme, Phsyc [no clue on spelling]. It works find and hides my desktop icons but if I d/l something my Firefox is set on default to put it to the desktop and now I have a ton of clutter on it..how do I see what actually is on the desktop to manage it even tho it's not seen?

you can go to my documents and hit backspace a few times and then you should come to the desktop folder

Your desktop is just a folder. Like Thomax is getting at, just go to the folder.

Or tell Firefox not to save files to your desktop. :P

I told firefox not to put it on my desktop anymore but I still can't find a way to open ANY folders...there is no "my computer" or "my documents" to double click on anymore

Do you not know how to work your file manager? That's not a Litestep issue, that's a "know how to use your computer" issue. Right click your desktop, and pick File Manager. If you have a broken theme, then do what I said in the other thread.
