Hi guys (and girls ^_^)

i have a problem with my litestep. Im using it now since years with no problem at all.

But since a week i cant open any folders anymore, while my litestep theme is on. e.g. with my Keyboard Hotkeys or through the popupmenu->system>my computer->... or icons in shortcuts. The only way is through popupmenu->litestep->litestep folder/theme folder. That works. All other methods make the computer work for a seconde and than there is just the task explorer.exe listed in my taskmanager but no window anywhere.

when i switch back to explorer shell, everything works fine.

i realy need your help, cuz that really sucks.

Thanks in advance

You'll need to provide the actual commands being executed that work and don't work. In any case it sounds like you (unknowningly) installed a broken explorer extension that that expects explorer to be running in shell mode. Generally anti-virus utils, or other malware.

HI, i dont exactly know what you mean but i try to give you what i understood you need.

I can only access the explorer through:
popupmenu->litestep->Litestep Folder
popupmenu->litestep->Theme Folder

Thats the only way i can get the explorer window to open.

All other Methods like:

popupmenu->filemanager
popupmenu->system->My Computer->[...]
Keyboard Hotkeys (My Files, My Music, My Pictures,etc.)
Theme Shortcuts
etc.

Don' work. They just make my computer work for a second ot two and than the explorer.exe task is listed in the taskmanager process view.

What do you mean by:

"[...]installed a broken explorer extension that that expects explorer to be running in shell mode. Generally anti-virus utils, or other malware."

What is a "explorer extension"?

Thanks for your help

Well...here is the problem I have with your statements. The two that work and popupmenu->system->My Computer->[...] are the same. They open a folder in your popup with all the files in it. So if the two work, the other should work just fine. Now popupmenu->filemanager is a direct call to $FileManager$ which you defined in your evars.rc upon install of omar's installer. As for your Keyboard Hotkeys, you would have had to have defined those by hand so I would check and see how you are calling them. And I have no idea what "Theme Shortcuts" are so you are on your own with those until you define what they are better.

As to what jugg was saying. If you installed an enhancement to the explorer file manager, or got some spyware/malware, installed your copy of explorer could be crashing. Some enhancements to the explorer file manager require that the explorer shell be running causing it to fail. My best guess as to what happened is that you got infected with some poorly written Malware or virus.
