I'm looking for a module, that can display the name of each running program instead of its icon in the tray. Is that even possible?

tasls and xtaskbar and taskbar can do it...you can even do it with label if you just want the active window.

I guess I phrased the question bad, I'm not talking about the programs in the taskbar, but in the system tray, the icons next to the clock in the Windows shell. Daemon-Tools, Sound options, Windows Messenger, Anti-Virus etc. I'm using VTray for that right now, but I went through the readme/manual and I haven't found an option to display the names instead of icons.

I can't think of any module that can do that. There are always just so many that it would take up so much room so I don't think anyone has tried.

can you mock up an image of how you'd like it to look?
