Hello, I haven't been able to find a post on this exact topic, but I was hoping someone could help. I can not take a screenshot of the desktop using the printscreen button, but the "alt + prt scr" will capture the active window, as it should. Any ideas?

It's not an LS thing. Did you bind PRTSCR to something with hotkey?

Thanks for your reply. Nothing was binded to the prtscr key. A reboot of my computer seems to have resolved the problem... although I'm still puzzled why alt+prtscrn worked.

Maybe you had a stuck Ctrl Key???

Lots of people have an F Lock key next to there function keys.
I know I know. PrtScn isn't a function key. But mine does'nt work unless my F Lock is on.

Thanks for the reply!!! I don't think thats my problem though. There doesn't seem to be enough memory to take the screen cap, which would be why I could do the screen cap of the active windows because it uses less memory... I'm going to see if another gig will fix the problem.

What the hell...?

How big is your desktop resolution haha

I can't imagine a reasonable screenshot taking more than 5mb of memory... And I'd assume that if physical memory was too lacking that virtual memory would make it up...

And when you say "another gig".... I seriously doubt a computer with 1gb RAM couldn't cope with a screenshot...

Maybe I'm wrong.....

Well... I have a dual monitor set up, one monitor with a resolution of 1680x1050 (22in wide screen) and the secondary with a resolution of 1280x1024 (17in). The Clipbook viewer in XP says that there isn't enough memory to display whats in the clipboard, but will display a screen cap of an active window just fine. So, I think that its a problem with not enough physical memory.

Do you think I should just allocate more space for the virtual memory? I just have a gig of RAM and was thinking about getting one more anyway.
