My problem... Windows starts up and it gets past the welcome screen and it goes to load the desktopl. The default theme starts to load and then freezes. I Ctrl+Alt+Del and regain control of my mouse and keyboard but the desktop stays frozen.

I've tried two forms of installation one using Omar and updating, the other using LOSI. So its not the installer thats cauing problems. I'm using Media Center version of XP SP2 but as far as I knew, it was still XP SP2 and don't think that would cause the issue. LOSI does install the lates Litestep build.

I've had a look around and someone mentioned it might be because of a start up program needing explorer.exe. So I was wondering if anyone knows if any of these programs could be at fault.

Worse still, the GF managed to get it all up and running and has begun to gloat.

Shouldn't be Daemon Tools, MSN or nVidia, since I use those with LS and have no problems.

Have you updated the build of LS included in the installer?
