Not-booting at start-up Thread last updated on 2007-11-27 18:00:27

Is there a way to configure Litestep so, that it doesn't boot up at Start-up? Because when I startup my laptop, Litestep lags/frrezes awfully...So then I ctrl+alt+del it and end the process, and manually boot Litestep in explorer...After that it works fine...

So? Is that possible? I check msconfig, but it's not there..

Update your build of LS and you won't have to do that.

I have the 24.7 update. But still, is it possible?
This program looks a lot like Blackbox, which -did- have this feature installed, but the overall setup was messy.

HUH?

What is the build date on LS when you go into the !About box?

It's possible... On one of my machines Litestep doesn't start by default, (neither does any other shell). I would tell you how I did it, but it was by accident, and I just haven't got around to fixing it yet.

Well...to answer your direct question. You could set taskmgr as your shell and once it loads start the appropriate shell. You could also go the route of a Shell Manager which should get around the whole mess.

or you could figure out the root problem and fix it rather than doing an annoying work around like that.

From the sounds of it, you have some startup application which is dependant on explorer being launched (spyware, virus scanner, auto update etc). So using another non-explorer launch method probably isn't going to help.
