I've just gotten into LiteStep, and I'm looking for something that will allow me to put menus of clickable buttons on the desktop. The concept is very similar to the default explorer desktop, but the main differences are:
1) Collapsible menus with small listed items to use less space
2) (optionally) Dynamic content, such as a self-updating list that displays the contents of a folder
Rather than try to describe it in detail, I've created a mockup of what I'd like to accomplish:

The exact visual style and configuration aren't that important to me, just the menu functionality. Does anybody know of any modules or config options that would get me started?
